Making A Difference
Making A Difference
When Lisa and her husband, Pete, adopted their daughter from foster care in Connecticut, in 2002, they learned there are many children that never get adopted to have a forever home and family. When foster teens age out at 18 years old, more often they become homeless. With nowhere to go and no one to help them, they feel hopeless. Here are some of the universal facts for aging out of foster care teens:
After moving to Florida in 2014, she knew she had to do something to help these young people. She and some friends from her church and business community started LiftUp Young Lives, a life skills program that began at her church, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne.
She later met Pamela Bress to help start WAYS for Life and merged LiftUp Life Skills in 2022.
"Making a difference in our members' lives is the greatest contribution I could make at this point in my life." says Lisa.
Lisa gives back a portion of her commissions to WAYS for Life and the LiftUp Life Skills program. Both Buyers and Sellers appreciate being a part of making a contribution to WAYS For Life.
